Episode 3: The “S” Word: Sustainability

The packaging conundrum and what it really means to be “sustainable” as a fashion brand. Relentless continues its series about ethical fashion and the menswear brand Noah. In this episode, members of the Noah team discuss their search for the most environmental option to package online orders, the feasibility of eliminating plastic bags entirely from their supply chain, and contemplate the label “sustainable.”

Sustainability is a trendy label but not really an apt one for the fashion industry. At Noah, the team is concerned less with labels and more with how to reduce the carbon footprint of its work. Team members describe the process of switching to paper mailers for online orders and the response from customers, as well as the ongoing pursuit of a way to completely eliminate plastic bags from the company’s entire supply chain. Featuring Brendon Babenzien, Corey Rubin, Beau Wollens, Jasmine Young. Music by BSNYEA, DJ Synchro, EJ Cali, and students at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts, and all made with Building Beats.
